Seventeen-year-old enduro racer, Dan Mundell, is about to take on the Welsh 2 Day Enduro, but instead of his parents watching from the side-lines, they’ll both be getting stuck in along with him.

Dan will be racing in the Expert E1 class at the forthcoming event, riding his JD Racing KTM UK 125 EXC fitted with Michelin’s Enduro Competition VI and Bib Mousse in the front and Enduro Competition IIIe in the rear. While his father, Ian Mundell (who had a successful off-road racing career in the late nineties) will be aboard his trusty 1998 Yamaha WR250Z, running the same Michelin tyre combination in the Veteran Clubman (Over 40s) class. Finally Kathy Mundell will be riding a CRF 230 (lovingly named Humphrey) with Michelin tyres in the Sportsman class.

Dan said: “It's an awesome feeling to ride alongside my mum and dad for the Welsh 2 Day. I think it's pretty cool because nobody else can say both their parents have just ridden what they have.”

And on his choice of tyres: “Michelin tyres are the best on the market. It's as simple as that. Dad always used Michelin back in his riding career spanning the nineties and noughties. They’re guaranteed quality, and I love the feedback you get when running a Michelin tyre.

“I have a huge amount of trust in the front end of my bike using the Michelin Enduro Competition VI and Bib Mousse. Both mum and dad will also be running these front tyres for the first time under my recommendation, although dad has said he's not sure his speed and performance will live up to how good the tyre really is! Mum is usually on Michelin X-Light Trials tyres, so having knobblies is rare for her. But in my opinion the Enduro Comp VI front/Enduro Competition IIIe rear is the perfect all-round combination for any Enduro event...especially the legendary Welsh 2 Day!”

The 2016 Welsh 2 Day Enduro takes place on 23-24 June at Llandrindod Wells. For more information visit www.welsh2dayenduro.com
